Halls in NTU
Curious about the different halls in NTU? Here's a quick guide to introduce you to our halls of residence.
With some 23 Halls of Residence, there's lots of diversity & options for living on campus. Whether you'd like to take a look inside the rooms, or learn about the amenities around these halls, here's a quick intro to our Halls.

(This page is a work-in-progress. Hall Fees are accurate as of AY24-25. Fees are set to increase again in AY25/26 and will be updated accordingly. All prices referenced from the official NTU Student Intranet page. We are in the midst of acquiring more pictures of the rooms in the various halls. Thanks for your patience!)
Halls 1 & 2
Welcome to NTU's most established halls! These two halls were the first halls in our university.
Besides a kampong spirit & being the cheapest halls in NTU, these two are famous for their toilet arrangement. Unlike any other hall, toilets here are SHARED. This means that two rooms share ONE toilet - which they are also responsible for cleaning. It is only accessible by the four residents in those rooms. Don't worry, the shower cubicle, toilet & sink area are all partitioned, so more than one person can use it at a time.

Halls 4 & 5
Welcome to the darlings of NTU halls - Hall 4 & 5. They're well known for having the biggest rooms in NTU, with really pleasing & modern layouts. These halls have also been recently renovated, although they were first built in 1988.

They're also known for being the halls on the south side of campus - overlooking Yunnan Garden. So if you're studying in WKW, SPMS, NBS or CoHASS in general, these would be the most convenient for you.

These halls also boast rich and lively cultures, with Hall 4 coming in 3rd place, just behind our 2 sports halls, for IHG 22/23. However, do note that re-application to these halls can be quite competitive.

These are some of the newest halls in NTU, and look more like executive HDBs from the outside. They're high-rise, have lifts, and boast great amenities (such as comfy study rooms, etc). They're also the only undergraduate halls in NTU with the option of having a private toilet.

Hall 10 & 11
Say hello to Halls 10 & 11 - the halls with bus stops on both the in and out routes of 199. Hall 11 is also right by the construction of the new MRT lines (dusty though for now!).
These two halls are also known to have the BEST toilets in NTU - a part of them that was recently renovated.

Hall 10 is infamous for being "Mt Everest" here in NTU - it sits on top of a slope that just keeps going up. The top floor of its highest block is at least level, if not higher, than the 12th floor of Tamarind Hall right next door. But it's definitely a GREAT free cardio programme!

A good perk of these halls is that they sit in the middle of a lot of good food in NTU - besides the famous Can 11 with legendary Cai Fan & more, there's also Tamarind Canteen, North Hills Food Court (+ A Hot Hideout), Can 9 & even Can 14 not far away.
